Using the negative future tense “won’t” to complain.
Grammar Point 2: Using the negative future tense “won’t” to complain.
You can use won’t to say that someone refuses to do something. Won’t is a contraction of will not –but when used to complain it takes on a present tense meaning.
Examples:
· She won’t let me go to the party (She refuses to let me go)
· He won’t listen to me. (He ignores me)
Practice
What do your parents refuse to do? They won’t buy me a car. (They refuse to buy me a car.)
