UNIT PROJECT ON HEALTHY LIVING Paragraph writing:

Before writing have students brainstorm their ideas on paper. Then have them choose 3 or 4 word/ideas that are related. Using these ideas create an outline and then sentences using the key words in the outline.

Sample brainstorm: topic –leisure activity (swimming): related words are bolded.

Sample Final Paragraph:

My favorite leisure activity is swimming. Being in the water is relaxing so I try to go to the pool twice a week.  I feel great afterwards.  It makes me stronger too. Also, I have more energy and self- confidence. I love swimming.
