Grammar Point 3: Subject + to make + object + adjective

 

To describe how something causes you to feel, use Subject + to make + object + adjective.

 

Examples:

Sports make us healthy.

My brother makes me crazy/happy/ etc. He made me mad.

That teacher makes me confused!

My friend made me mad; when she told everyone I failed the test. Sad movies always make me sad!

When he heard he had not passed the test it made him depressed.

 

 

Practice:

What (or who) makes you happy/sad/blue/nervous? Write five sentences to describe how something makes you feel.
